Here are the readers who will lead the celebration of Dead Poets Remembrance Day this year in Maryland.
Ned Balbo is going to present the poetry of former US Poet Laureate, Josephine Jacobsen and Jane Satterfield will read the work of Michael Egan. CarlaJean Valluzzi will present the work of former MD Poet Laureate, Lucille Clifton. To top the program off, Virginia Crawford and Sam Schmidt will present the work of Roland Flint, another former MD laureate, and Clarinda Harriss will share her love of Ogden Nash, the famous funny Baltimorean. Lorraine Whittlesey is batting cleanup by sharing some poetry of David Franks
Internationally-famed Poe scholar, Jeff Jerome, will give a spirited presentation on fascinating aspects of Poe's grave, and the numerous people who visit there.
The event will go forward rain or moonshine and we hope to have a gathering in a pub/place nearby at 7:30 where anyone can read a poem from their favorite MD poet.
