Another map-landing on a poet's grave: Pike was a strange and fascinating dude -- and even the Muses seem to have visited this former Confederate General who has been accused of helping to start the KKK. The facts, as facts of this sort often are, are shrouded in controversy and mystery.
So what happens at the graves is usually one of two things: he either #1.) meets one or two people at a grave (or poet's house, or hang-out, etc.) and interviews them about the poet buried there; OR #2.) sometimes a local/State contact will organize a larger community reading (often called a Dead Poets Bash).
During the upcoming Poets' Graves of the South Grand Tour Walter and Dedgar are looking to meet people in 16 States as they travel to the graves of 90-plus poets. If you are interested in meeting Dedgar and Walter at a poet's grave during the 2015 Grand Tour, or have another question or comment about all these activities, please feel free to e-mail info [AT] deadpoes DOT org
