Today (Sunday, 4th of May) at 4 PM is the first San Francisco Dead Poets Bash, at Alley Cats Books. The event will be filmed for the archives by KUSH, the famous archivist of everything Poetry and San Francisco.
This Sunday at 4 PM the first San Francisco Dead Poets Bash will be held at Alley Cat Books! The owners thought it would be cool to host a celebration of the many, many, yes, many dead poets who have been associated with SF.
We are beginning to spread the word via. FB, etc. now. Welcome to come read if you are near SF Sunday afternoon. And, it MUST be a dead poet's poem that one reads. This map has a list of the poets of CA; we want to narrow the reading to those associated with Central CA/SF.
Yesterday's gathering and celebration at the grave of John "Jack" Spicer was one of the best days ever on the whole 5-year Grand Tour. It was a joy to meet with other poets and friends of Spicer's to hear his words resound in the serene and colorful columbarium where his remains remain.
